Hospitals Boost XTO's Mineral Rights Holdings

(Infrastructure & Transportation : Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, 6/6/2008)

FORT WORTH (Fort Worth Star-Telegram) – Local drilling company XTO Energy has signed leases with Cook Children's Medical Center and neighboring Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital for a total of more than 100 acres in the city's hospital district.

The land under the two hospitals is south of downtown Fort Worth, bounded by Eighth Avenue and Peter Smith, Rosedale and Henderson streets.

The agreements boost XTO's mineral rights holdings in the area. The company has signed neighborhoods to the west and south of the hospitals.

The mineral rights could be accessed via a couple possible drilling sites owned by XTO. One is north of I-30 near Forest Park Blvd. The other is about half a mile east of the hospitals near West Broadway Ave. and Calhoun St., at the old Foremost Dairy Plant.
