(DFW) - Foreclosure filings for the upcoming December foreclosure auctions are down 12 percent in Dallas County when compared to the same period last year, according to a new report from Foreclosure Listing Service Inc. (FLS)
Dallas County had 14,791 postings in the most recent December report, down from 16,801 in 2008.
Denton saw a drop in foreclosure filings of 5 percent over last year. But Tarrant and Collin Counties both saw increases since December 2008, of 1 percent and 13 percent, respectively.
For the year as a whole, FLS said it has noticed an upswing in reposting activity across Texas and in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
"Reposting activity surged 88 percent this year, within the 19-county area accounting for 44 percent of the total residential posting activity," said George Roddy Sr., president of FLS.
Forty-seven percent of the reposting activity occurred in Tarrant and Denton Counties. The report added that Collin County, along with Travis and Comal County made up another big chunk — 46 percent of the repostings.
