According to the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), construction began on 375 rooms during third quarter 2009. In addition, there were 710 hotel rooms completed.

The following projects were started in 3Q 2009:

• (Fort Worth) - Sheridian Lodging began construction on a 70-room Comfort Suites located at 6500 South Freeway. The estimated completion is summer 2010.
   
• (Dallas) - Construction began on an 89-room Holiday Inn Express. Q Hotels anticipates a spring 2010 completion date for the property located at 4321 Communications Drive.
   
• (Fort Worth) - Lodgestar Investments began construction on a 98-room Homewood Suites. Located at 6350 Overton Ridge Drives, the estimated completion date is early 2011.
   
• (McKinney) - A 118-room Suburban Extended Stay is underway at the northeast corner of Hwy 121 and Alma Rd. Jaisen Development anticipates a completion date for fall 2010.
